Head of People & Operations

As the Leader of the People function at BGI, Lisa Zaripov oversees Human Resources, Talent, and Facilities. Lisa leads the People team with a growth mindset that values flexibility and diversity. People programs are built holistically taking into consideration the needs of the business and the talent that drives it forward.

“Studying Multicultural and Organizational Communication has given me the framework to approach diverse groups in an array of industries in an effective way. Working in the Technology Industry I’ve seen People teams embracing popular organization trends that have worked well for high profile companies. I exercise caution in adopting programs based solely on anecdotal success. I believe that it takes courage to adapt organizational practices and calibrate them to what’s in front of you instead of simply replicating buzz-worthy initiatives.”

Lisa’s passion for Social Psychology and Communication Studies was inspired by her parent’s plight as political refugees from the Soviet Union. Growing up in diverse, multicultural Skokie, Illinois, Lisa continued to develop her quest for knowledge in the Social Sciences by studying Communication at the University of Illinois and later moving on to earn her Master’s degree from DePaul University in Organizational Communication. Her time living abroad in Barcelona, Spain expanded her world view and connected her more deeply with the business field with a focus in Human Resources. After her time in Spain, Lisa worked in the technology field in Human Resources and Communications at companies such as Google and Wag! Lisa is a Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SCP) and has her PHRca certification from HRCI.
